About me

Who I am?

Hi there, Im Daniela

I’m a mum of two little boys (six and two years old) and have ten years experience as a dietitian.

Being a mum has given me a complete understanding of how difficult it is to be in charge of the food choices at home. I know that everyone is a unique universe that needs to be heard and cared for.

I’m not here to judge

There was a day when I was a first-time mum, and I had to face a picky eater with ADHD and ASD. As a Dietitian I thought I knew it all, little did I know that the more pressure I put onto my kid to eat his vegetables, I was reinforcing an unhealthy relationship with food.

Thinking back, the main reason I became a Dietitian was that, as an adolescent, I was also a picky eater, and I liked only a few veggies; when I was old enough to be in charge of my own food choices, I wanted to have a “healthier” diet, so I did my research, my young and vulnerable brain, was easily trapped with all the misconceptions about nutrition, I felt confused, and I tried to find a place where I belong with my own food choices. All I could see were Fad diets and restrictions to manipulate our bodies.

Since then, I have committed to being the professional that I needed to guide me through the process of understanding my body through nutrition in the way that I would have loved to have been guided when I was an adolescent and as a new mum dealing with the food challenges of a neurodivergent kid.

I have created the FoodIdentity approach, that honours everyones individuality in their food choices, with intuitive eating practices, as it is the most natural way of connecting with our body needs. I aim to help people of all ages going through transitions and parents dealing with that challenge, inspire curiosity around food, and create teamwork to nurture a happier relationship with food.
